Nesuočavanje roditelja sa nacističkom prošlošću u romanu “U senci moga brata” Uvea Tima

Abstract

U ovom radu bavićemo se pitanjem krivice i suočavanjem sa njom. Predmet istraživanja jeste roman "U senci moga brata" Uvea Tima, tačnije odnos generacije roditelja prema periodu vladavine nacista i nedelima počinjenim u ime nacističke ideologije. U romanu koji je predmet istraživanja ovog rada pisac je i pripovedač svoje životne priče. On građu za roman pronalazi unutar sopstvene porodice, na osnovu čega ukazuje na odsustvo kritičkog suočavanja njegovih najbližih sa nacističkom prošlošću za vreme i nakon Drugog svetskog rata. Roman je napisan 2003. godine, nakon smrti piščevih roditelja i sestre, koji su ga označavali kao „onog koji je došao posle” (Tim 2012: 8). Ovaj pojam podrazumeva generaciju koja se rodila za vreme i nakon završetka Drugog svetskog rata i koja je morala da se suoči sa nedelima svojih starijih. U radu smo analizirali delove teksta koji upućuju na stav roditelja i postojanje ili nepostojanje krivice, kao i opravdanja koja su korišćena kao štit od suočavanja sa istinom.

In this paper, we will deal with the issue of guilt and dealing with it. The subject of research is the novel "In my brother's shadow" by Uwe Timm, more precisely the relationship of the parents' generation towards the period of the Nazi rule and the crimes committed in the name of the Nazi ideology. The writer is at the same time the narrator of his life story. It is not about fictitious characters, but the situation that is described in Timm's family as a criticism of the (in) action of his loved ones at the time. The novel was written in 2003, after the death of the writer's parents and sister, whom the parents classified as „the one who came after” (Timm 2012: 8). This term refers to the generation that was born during and after the end of World War II and that found itself faced with the guilt of its elders. Using the analysis method, we found parts of the text that point to the attitude of the parents and the existence or non-existence of guilt, as well as justifications that were used as a shield from facing the truth.
