Abstract
"... It is a very characteristic literary pseudonym of Sholem Aleichem. "Sholem Aleichem " is the usual greeting of the Jews in the sense of "peace to you." The pseudonym shows the closeness of the writer to the people, to their everyday life, to their suffering and hopes. The Jewish people also accepted Sholem Aleichem as a close, dear man, with whom he can smile and share worries..."
