Abstract
The Jewish History Museum in Belgrade keeps in its archive several sheets from the book of protocols of Hevra Kadisha in the city of Senta from 1858-1884. Evgeny Savoyski's victory at Senta also marks a turning point in the history of Jewish migration in this part of Europe, as soon afterward the first signs of organized life of Jewish communities in the territory of present-day Vojvodina were recorded. Thus, in his monograph "The History of the City of Novi Sad", M. Erdujhely states that in 1748 there was a Jewish religious community in Novi Sad, and in 1773 in Baja. Lajoš Vig writes in his essay on Senta’s Jews that in 1793, 20 Jewish families "paid for the service and were united in the community with a separate judge." At this time, the following Jewish families were mentioned in the Senta: Bergel, Braun, Deutsch, Hacker, Kohn, Krishaber, Montag, Oblath and Spitzer
