Jevrejska narodna i univerzitetska biblioteka u Jerusalimu

Abstract

U sklopu zgrada neobične moderne arhitekture univerzitetskog grada na Givat Ramu u Jerusalimu ističe se zgrada Jevrejske narodne i univerzitetske biblioteke. Zamisao o stvaranju jedne ustanove od tako velikoga značaja za jevrejski narod uopšte, usko je povezana sa imenom ruskog Jevrejina lekara dr Jozefa Hazanovića. On je toj zamisli i njenom ostvarenju posvetio celi svoj život i sav svoj imetak. Zamisao o stvaranju ovakve biblioteke takođe je prihvatio i do kraja svoga života 1951. godine posvetio i profesor dr Heinrich Loewe. Od 1920. godine direktor ove biblioteke bio je prof. dr Hugo Bergmann, koga je nasledio prof. dr Gotthold Weil i bio na čelu biblioteke sve do 1947. godine. Pri biblioteci, odnosno pri hebrejskom univerzitetu, postoji i škola za stručne bibliotekare pod vođstvom direktora biblioteke dr Carla Wormanna. Ona traje jednu, odnosno dve godine.

Within the buildings of the unusual modern architecture of the university city on Givat Ram in Jerusalem, the Jewish National and University Library buildings distinguish. The idea of creating an institution of such great importance to the Jewish people, in general, is closely related to the name of the Russian Jewish physician, Dr. Joseph Hazanovic. To this idea and its realization, he devoted his whole life and all his possession. The idea of creating a library like this was also embraced and dedicated to the end of his life in 1951 by Professor Dr. Heinrich Loewe. Since 1920 the director of this library has been prof. Prof. Dr. Hugo Bergmann, succeeded by Prof. Dr. Gotthold Weil and headed the library until 1947. There is also a school for professional librarians at the library, or at the Hebrew University, under the direction of the library director, Dr. Carl Wormann. It lasts one or two years.
