Abstract
"On January 28, 1432, the Šibenik Grand Council decided to make an agreement with a Jew who has 10,000 ducats, which he would lend to citizens at 10% interest. The condition was that the pledged items should not be sold outside Šibenik without the knowledge of the city prince and that he should not buy them himself. Such a Jew probably did not find. On December 26, 1568, the Council decided, this time with success, to make an agreement with the Jewish moneymen. The contract was made with the brothers Rafael and Grizon, sons of Melli Zizzo (Cizzo) of Venice. Under the 23 point agreement, the brothers have to bring 3,000 ducats and lend them at 20% interest..."
