Abstract

That house is long gone, but in its place was erected, on high arcades, the Jewish Palace of Culture, in which Herzl's catchword, "Back to Jewry," occupied the place of honor. Jacob Herzl, solemnly serious, guide from that house on Friday evening his son Theodor in the great temple that would once proudly bear the name of that boy. From that house, Jeanette, born Diamond, a fine-minded, dreamy-eyed woman, quietly accompanied her son to a nearby street to a Jewish elementary school where he became familiarized with the first Jewish letters...
