Iz istorije Jevreja u jugoistočnoj Evropi

Abstract

Kada je 1492. godine Španija sa svoje teritorije prognala sve Jevreje, veliki deo, verovatno oko 100.000 ljudi, stiglo je tokom narednih godina u Tursku. Uskoro posle toga, 1948. godine prognani su i Jevreji iz Portugala i Navare. Mnogi od izgnanika sa Pirinejskog poluostrva koristili su Dubrovnik ili njegove stanovnike i brodove da pređu ili prenesu svoju imovinu dalje na Istok. Novi podaci koji se ovde iznose, odnose se na 1502 i 1503. godinu, odnosno na vreme kada se još vodio ili se tek završavao tursko-mletački rat. Preko Dubrovnika kao sigurne luke odvijao se veliki deo seobe Jevreja. U nastavku teksta analiziraju se pronađeni dokumenti - ugovori između Jevreja i onih koji su transportovali njihovu imovinu.

When in 1492 Spain expelled all Jews from its territory, a large proportion, probably about 100,000 people, arrived in Turkey in the coming years. Shortly thereafter, in 1498, Jews from Portugal and Navarre were exiled. Many of the exiles from the Iberian Peninsula used Dubrovnik or its inhabitants and ships to cross or transfer their property further to the East. The new information presented here refers to the years 1502 and 1503, that is, at the time when the Turkish-Venetian war was still being fought or was just ending. Throughout Dubrovnik, as a safe harbor, much of the migration of Jews took place. The text below analyzes the documents found - the contracts between the Jews and those who transported their property.
