Situacija kada znak mora da objavi svoju lutalačku sudbinu jeste onaj momenat u kome ahasverska sudbina pesnika prilazi sudbini Jevrejina-lutalice u raskolu romana i knjige, knjige i teksta, (božanskog) glasa i pisma (priče i pisanja), žive reči i grafijske (tekstualne) interpretacije.sr
This paper analyzes the ontological and poetic status of Jews and Jewishness in Andrić's novel "Bosnian chronicle". The uniqueness of collective identity which is not realized through exclusive binarity of the Other, or as an ideal hybrid identity of the Third, that identity which is the margin of the margin and the periphery of periphery, without a clearly defined centre to relate itself to and constitute its peripheral status, reveals a connection between two traumas: the trauma of Jewishness and the trauma of writing in Andrić's late modernism and in this novel particularly. The situation when the sign (and the act of signification) must declare its wandering destiny, its wandering determination, is a moment when these two destinies, of a Jew and of a poet, become closer to each other, separating the voice (of a God, of metaphysics) from the letter, storytelling from writing, the living word from its textual representation and interpretation.sr
