Abstract
A two-week workshop at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade entitled "Jewish Art and Tradition" from January 27 to February 10, 2008, was organized by the Department of History of Art of the Faculty of Philosophy and the Jewish historical museum in Belgrade with international experts from Israel and Europe. For the first time, the academic curriculum offered an introduction to a wide range of topics related to Jewish history, literature, art and religion. By studying both local relations and relations between Jews and the people among whom they live from ancient times to the present day, the participants of the workshop will be offered new knowledge about the life of Jewish communities and their cultural heritage at lectures, exhibitions and excursions.
