Spomenica poginulih i umrlih srpskih Jevreja u Balkanskom i Svetskom ratu 1912-1918

Abstract

U borbama za otadžbinu Jevreji su se borili rame uz rame sa građanima Srbije, požrtvovano i samopregorno. U godinama najtežih ratnih iskušenja 1912-1918, ispoljili su najveću vernost otadžbini i dali najveći doprinos njenom moralnom jedinstvu, nasuprot svim pokušajima neprijatelja da razbije narodnu slogu. O rodoljublju srpskih Jevreja u faktografskoj, a dirljivoj knjizi Odbora za podizanje spomenika palim jevrejskim ratnicima svedoči “Spomenica poginulih i umrlih srpskih Jevreja u balkanskom i svetskom ratu, 1912-1918” (Štamparija M. Karića, Beograd, 1927.). Spomenica sadrži dugu listu sa imenima, kratkim podacima i fotografijama Jevreja koji su dali svoje živote na frontu, odnosno na vojnoj dužnosti u borbi za slobodu Srbije i svih naroda Jugoslavije. Povodom obeležavanja stogodišnjice od početka Prvog svetskog rata, 1914-2014 Jevrejski istorijski muzej i Savez jevrejskih opština Srbije štampali su 2014. godine reprint izdanje ove Spomenice.

In the battles for the homeland, the Jews struggled side by side with the citizens of Serbia, selflessly and sacrificially. In the years of the most severe war temptations of 1912-1918, they showed the greatest loyalty to the homeland and gave the greatest contribution to its moral unity, in spite of all the attempts of the enemy to break the national harmony. The "Memorial volume of the Fallen and Died Serbian Jews in the Balkan and World Wars, 1912-1918" (M. Karić Printing House, Belgrade, 1927) testifies to the patriotism of Serbian Jews in the factual and touching book of the Committee for the build-up of monuments to fallen Jewish warriors. The monument contains a long list of names, brief information and photographs of Jews who gave their lives at the front, i.e. on military duty in the fight for the freedom of Serbia and all the peoples of Yugoslavia. On the occasion of marking the centenary of the beginning of the First World War, in 1914-2014, the Jewish Historical Museum and the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia printed a reprint edition of this Monument in 2014.
