First of all, when we look for explanations of this term in the world's great encyclopedic dictionaries, we immediately learn that the word is based on Zion (Zion), the holy hill in Jerusalem, that the term Zionism is in fact an aspiration and movement (from the 19th century onwards) of the Jewish people in the Diaspora to return to Palestine or, in other words, to the territory - the homeland of their ancestors, which, according to the Torah (Old Testament), God gave them in permanent possession. Since the creation of the new state of Israel in 1948, Zionism has been considered in the world as a movement of Jews from all continents to achieve their immigration to that state..."en
