Abstract
The size in numbers of the Sarajevo Jews was reflected in the representation of the children of Moses in the education system. On the basis of one Sarajevo school and one school year, we will provide factual data which might seem incredible to the modern-day reader. What would today be considered inconceivable for schools in Sarajevo, was at the time an ordinary circumstance. This paper has a goal of examining, analyzing and presenting the status of the Jewish female students in the mentioned school in the city on the Miljacka river in the given school year, by using statistical data. Based on the report of the State Women’s Grammar School in Sarajevo in the school year of 1934/35, the author will investigate the size in numbers and success of the Jewish students, present the results of the research, and resurrect from the darkness of oblivion the human beings who have mainly disappeared from the face of the Earth a little later - in the Holocaust.
