This text with supplements does not intend to explain the essence of the terrible events of 1941, nor to find a much-needed diagnosis and cure for an uncertain future, but only to show with the example of historical facts that evil is indiscriminate and that it affects everyone else besides its target groups, without an exception. The Serbs, the most suffering of these target groups in eastern Bilogora, must be discussed separately. The extent of the evil committed against them is so extensive that just listing the names of the victims and the basic facts about them exceeds the scope of a simple list, review or informative text, and requires an entire archive. After the attack of Hitler's Third Reich on the former Yugoslavia on April 6, 1941, the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was soon proclaimed on April 10, 1941. Although short-lived in its four-year existence, the Ustasha reign of terror managed to commit monstrous crimes. The victims were members of all nations in the territory controlled by the NDH, and according to the reasons for suffering, they can be divided into three groups. The first of them consists of the already mentioned Orthodox Serbs. The second group of victims consisted of Roma and Jews, and according to the racial laws of the NDH, Gypsies and Jews were declared an inferior race and thus, like the Serbs, lost all civil rights, including the right to life. The third group of NDH victims in eastern Bilogora consisted of members of four other nations, Hungarians, Germans, Croats and Czechs, who had the opportunity to choose, to be loyal citizens of the Ustasha authorities and thereby avoid suffering or to oppose this evil with enough courage by word or deed, which was paid with his life and the lives of his neighbours.sr
