The Federation of Jewish Communities of the Federative People's Republic of Yugoslavia, on behalf of the surviving remnants of Yugoslav Jews, dedicates this book to the memory of 60.000 Jews of Yugoslavia, who fell as tortured victims of fascism or lost their lives as fighters against fascism from 1941 to 1945. This book is also dedicated to the memory of nearly 2.000.000 citizens of Yugoslavia, to the memory of 6.000.000 Jews and to the memory of millions of victims and fallen fighters of all the nations who fought for the annihilation of the fascist scourge or suffeređ under it. They all represent a glorious yet tragic community, a vast legion of heroes and martyrs for the same great cause. And just as their heroic blood and their tortured corpses lie mingled on countless battlefields, in mass death camps and mass graves, so also does our memory of all of them - a debt of honour and piety, a debt of love and gratitude to all of them - remain in substance undivided. This book appears in the уеаг 1952. ten years after the final completion of Hitler’s plan for total extermination of Jews. The "Thousand уеаr Reich" was shattered after only twelve years of its unprecedented bloody and brutal rule against the fighting spirit of liberty-loving nations and the conscience of progressive humanity. The peoples whom it tried to enslave forever or destroy are still living and building a better future for themselves. Out of the enslaved Yugoslavia, there emerged - by the will and power of its peoples - a new socialist Yugoslavia, a country of fraternity and unity of all its peoples and citizens, while the Jewish people are now building up their state of Israel. This book is not only a ghastly reminder of the past but also warning for the future. It is not only a description of a tragedy but also an apotheosis of these fallen fighters and martyrs.en
U svetlu veličine ovih zločina i neznanja o njima u inostranom svetu, štampanje drugog nepromenjenog izdanja "Crne knjige" predstavlja izuzetno vredan doprinos istorijskoj literaturi o Holokaustu. Puni naslov "Crne knjige" glasi "Zločini fašističkih okupatora i njihovih saradnika protiv Jevreja u Jugoslaviji".
