Abstract

U Beogradu se, kao i u nizu drugih gradova Turskog carstva, u toku XVII veka, osim privrednog razvijao i sve intenzivniji naučni jevrejski život. U Turskom carstvu postojala je verska i građanska tolerancija prema Jevrejima, nasuprot njihovim progonima i obespravljenosti u hrišćanskoj Evropi.
