Jevrejski almanah 1954 (Savez jevrejskih opština Jugoslavije)

Abstract

"Jevrejski almanah" je veran odraz nacionalnog i kulturnog života jevrejske zajednice u Jugoslaviji i ogledalo zbivanja u jevrejskom svetu uopšte, kako u Izraelu tako i u drugim zemljama. Ovaj broj Almanaha je prvi koji je štampan posle oslobođenja i završetka Drugog svetskog rata. Sadrži mnogobrojne članke i svedočanstva o bezbrojnim žrtvama i masovnom uništavanju Ijudskih života kakvo istorija ne pamti. Almanah prikazuje i otpor koji su naši Jevreji pružali mračnim silama još pre Drugog svetskog rata, kao pojedinci ili kao saradnici jevrejskih omladinskih i drugih društava napredne ideološke orijentacije (kao članovi SKOJ-a i Komunističke partije). Almanah takođe dokumentuje učešće Jevreja u oslobodilačkoj borbi naroda Jugoslavije kao i u borbama drugih naroda koji su se suprotstavili fašističkoj koaliciji. Prilozi u Almanahu govore i o savremenim nastojanjima Jevreja u Jugoslaviji koji, u okviru opštih napora cele zemlje, rade na rešavanju svojih specifičnih socijalnih i kulturnih problema. Na kraju, Almanah prikazuje život i onog dela jugoslovenskog Jevrejstva koji se iselio u mladu državu Izrael. Značajan deo Almanaha posvećen je književnim radovima koje objavljuju Jevreji ili radovima o jevrejskim temama. Informativni prilog o hronologiji važnijih događaja obuhvata značajne događaje iz života jevrejske zajednice u Jugoslaviji u periodu od 1944 do 1953. godine.

The "Jewish Almanac" is a faithful reflection of the national and cultural life of the Jewish community in Yugoslavia and a mirror of events in the Jewish world in general, both in Israel and in other countries. This issue of the Almanac is the first printed issue after the liberation and the end of World War II. It contains numerous articles and testimonies about the countless sacrifices and mass destruction of human lives that history does not remember. The Almanac also describes the resistance that our Jews provided to the dark forces before World War II, as individuals or as collaborators of Jewish youth and other societies of advanced ideological orientation (as members of the SKOJ and the Communist Party). The Almanac also documents the participation of Jews in the liberation struggle of the peoples of Yugoslavia, as well as in the struggles of other peoples who opposed the fascist coalition. Contributions in the Almanac also address the contemporary efforts of Jews in Yugoslavia, who, as part of the general efforts of the whole country, work to address their specific social and cultural problems. In the end, the Almanac describes the life of that part of Yugoslav Jewry who emigrated to the young state of Israel. A significant part of the Almanac is devoted to literary works published by Jews or to Jewish topics. An informative report on the chronology of major events covers significant events from the life of the Jewish community in Yugoslavia from 1944 to 1953.
