"Žuti znak"

Abstract

U fundusu Javne ustanove „Spomen-područje Donja Gradina" nalaze se dvije okrugle pločice pronađene u obradivim površinama sela Donja Gradina. Predmete su pronašli mještani, koji su ih predali kustosima Spomen-područja. Izrađeni su od aluminijuma. Prečnik predmeta je 4,8 cm, a u sredini je bilo odštampano crno latiničko slovo Ž. U decembru 2016. godine predmeti su konzervisani u Etnografskom muzeju u Beogradu. Predmet su oznake koju su morali nositi Jevreji u Nezavisnoj Državi Hrvatskoj i oni predstavlјaju svjedočanstvo o sistematskom uništavanju jevrejskog stanovništva od strane države.

In the collections of the Public Institution "Memorial Zone Donja Gradina” there are two round plates found in the crop fields in the village of Donja Gradina. The objects were found by the local residents who then turned them over to the curators of the Memorial Zone. The plates are made of aluminum. Their diameter is 4,8 cm. In the center, there is a printed letter "Ž”. In December 2016 the objects were conserved by the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. They are in fact markings worn by the Jews in the Independent State of Croatia, and they testify to the systematic destruction of the Jewish people on behalf of that state.
