Beogradski Jevreji u događajima iz 1862. godine

Abstract

Ovaj rad opisuje napetost koja je postojala između Turaka i Srba i brojne nerede koji su se dešavali tokom prvih meseci 1862. godine. Jevreji nisu mogli da izbegnu ove događaje zbog svoje mahale koja se nalazila ispod Kalemegdana, na obali Dunava, i koja je bila je okružena turskim naseljima, a bilo je i Jevreja koji su živeli među Turcima. Broj žrtava turskog nasilja bio je nesrazmeran broju stanovnika u jevrejskom delu. Jevreji su tražili pomoć od srpskih vlasti. U tekstu se navodi mnogo primera koji prikazuju turske napade na Srbe i Jevreje. Slučaj Jude Perere dogodio se istog dana kada i incident na Čukur česmi. Zbog tuča, bombardovanja i pljačke koja je usledila nakon toga Jevreji su pobegli u Zemun.

This paper describes the tension which existed between the Turks and Serbs and the numerous disturbances which took place during the first months of 1862. The Jews could not avoid these events for their mahalla which was situated under the Kalemegdan end on the Danube banks was surrounded by Turkish settlements and there were also Jews who were living among the Turks. The number of victims of Turkish violence was disproportionate with the number of the Jewish colony. The Jews requested help from the Serbian authorities. In the text, there are many examples cited showing the Turkish attacks on Serbs and Jews. The case of Juda Perera happened on the same day when the incident at Čukur Česma. It is due to the fights, bombardment, and robbery which followed that the Jews fled to Zemun.
