Abstract

Knjiga "Judaizam i ljudska prava" predstavlja zbirku eseja koji su objavljeni u serijalu izdanja Pravnog centra Fonda za otvoreno društvo Bosne i Hercegovine. Ovaj serijal je posvećen odnosu različitih religija prema pravu, sa posebnim osvrtom na ljudska prava. Judaizam, kao i svaka druga religija, postavlja određene pretpostavke za interpretaciju društveno-pravnih normi, strogo se držeći pri tome odrednica Petoknjižja - Tore kao najvišeg pravnog akta. Kroz Toru se interpretiraju i u njenom svjetlu se prelamaju svi društveni odnosi u jevrejskom svijetu. Ljudska prava su integralni dio vjerovanja i tradicije judaizma. Vjerovanje da je svaki čovjek stvoren nalik na Stvoritelja, da je čovječanstvo jedna familija, te da je svaka osoba dužna da se odnosi pravedno prema drugima, osnovni je izvor jevrejskog poštivanja ljudskih prava.

The book "Judaism and Human Rights" is a collection of essays published in a series of publications of the Law Center of the Open Society Fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This series is dedicated to the relationship of different religions to law, with special reference to human rights. Judaism, like any other religion, sets certain preconditions for the interpretation of social and legal norms, strictly following to the determinant of the Pentateuch - the Torah as the highest legal act. Through the Torah, all social relations in the Jewish world are interpreted and refracted in its light. Human rights are an integral part of the beliefs and traditions of Judaism. The belief that every human being is created like the Creator, that humanity is one family, and that every person has a duty to treat others justly, is a fundamental source of Jewish respect for human rights.
